TEMPORARY CLOSURE - update May 2021

The Arts & Craft Café is closed temporarily, while there are concerns over the Covid-19 coronavirus.

We are monitoring the advice from Public Health England.

Due to the very social nature of our meetings, we don't want to come back with strict rules for distancing and face coverings, and so it is unlikely that we will open again until the autumn.

Watch this website for further information as to when we have a firm re-opening date.

Sincere apologies for the disappointment.  Please continue your creative activities at home and feel free to contact me if you need any advice.

Stay well!

Come and join us for a great afternoon of arts and/or crafts activities.

Free parking in the Community Centre car park.  Wheelchair accessible.
** Please use the Kennet Valley Pre-School Entrance on the right of the building **

We meet every Friday afternoon from 2pm to 4:30pm and all are welcome
(age 16+).

Just come whenever you like, for a tiny fee of £2.50 per person

There is no commitment to regular attendance and no membership fee, though many people come every week to join in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and try out some arty or crafty activities.

We have a number of skilled craft workers who are happy to advise on projects such as card-making and glass painting.   We also have a dedicated group of artists, at all levels of experience, and I am usually around to give advice if it's wanted.

As we are all volunteers, we do ask that you clear up after yourselves and respect the equipment.

Tea, coffee and cake or biscuits are available at very reasonable prices. We are a not-for-profit organisation:  We just aim to cover our costs for venue and basic arts & crafts materials.  Things like paper, pencils, paint and card-making items are included in the drop-in fee.  We charge per item for things like glass and china (for glass & ceramic painting).  Most artists like to bring their own materials.

We also offer occasional, optional workshops in a variety of arts and crafts.

Often, workshops are free, but we sometimes make a small charge to cover the costs of tuition and materials.   In the past, we have run workshops in drawing for beginners, encaustic wax, beading, watercolour, basket weaving, portraiture, decoupage, pastels, silk painting, parchment craft, glass painting, marbling and many, many more.

At the moment, we have around 20 to 25 participants each week.  All are adults (male and female).

Why not give us a try?
